What do you do "just for fun"?
We love to have fun, don’t we? We strive to make much of what we do as entertaining as possible, be it work around the house, school or at our respective job(s).
With the advent of modern technology, we have discovered and developed even more ways in which we can increase our endless pursuit of pleasure. Unfortunately, our pursuit of pleasure often leads down a path that takes our hearts and our minds away from the very GOD who gives us life and the ability to enjoy it.
Below is a commentary by an unknown author, which makes some observations that I’m sure some people might not appreciate.
Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Isn't it funny how easily we believe what we see, read, and hear in the mainstream media, but question what the Bible says.
Isn't it funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Or is it scary?
Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also believes" in God).
Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.
Isn't it funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace.
FUNNY, ISN'T IT?
Isn't it funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.
Are you laughing?
Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many of your followers because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
Isn't it funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
“The Truth Hurts” is an age-old expression that often incites an angry, aggressive and hateful response. Many people have been “silenced” for expressing truth. Human nature rejects truth, and has always sought to deny, distort and demean any and all truth that goes against our desire to do that which we find pleasurable and fun. Why? Often it is because our pleasure is derived at the expense of someone else. From the smallest practical joke to the most perverse immoral act, someone other than us bears the brunt of our “fun”.
When one attempts to play an “April Fool’s” joke or prank after-the-fact, there is a saying that goes, “April Fool’s is past, you’re the biggest fool at last!” I encourage you; when it comes to the things of GOD, don’t be the biggest fool at last. Even King Solomon, the “wisest man in history” came to a somber conclusion regarding man’s pursuit of pleasure; “Laughter,” I said, “is foolish. And what does pleasure accomplish?” (Ecclesiastes 2:2)
Seek pleasure in the things of GOD. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21; Luke 12:34)
