True Relation

The way that one thing affects another is their relation.

So I had this dream...

As in most of my dreams, I am a young man (comparatively speaking). 

And in my dream, there is this young woman with whom I have great affection for and she for me. All is seemingly well in our relationship, which is not sexual, but definitely more than platonic! That is until she sees a younger man with whom she wants to have sexual relations with.

Hurt, I ask her why, and she responds that it is just a physical attraction, nothing more -- that she still adores me and wants to continue our relationship together. 

I inform her that if she does, it will greatly damage our relationship. 

She goes ahead and does what she wants anyway.

After her fling, she comes back to me as if nothing had happened. She tells me it was purely a physical act, nothing more. Her love and desire to be with me has not diminished in the least.

With great sadness in my heart, I point-blank asked her, "Do you believe we are in relation?"

With that question, the dream ended.

I awoke later with the dream fresh in my mind. It didn't take me but a moment to realize that My Creator used the dream to illustrate to me how I have behaved toward Him over my lifespan.

I wanted Him to be there for me and to love me always. Yet I also wanted my freedom to do and live as I pleased -- with no thought as to how my actions denied my profession of love for Him.

WOW!

I once was blind, but now I see.
