Some great promises for those who choose to follow Christ.
"Christ shall give you light." --Ephesians 5:14
Consider what an encouraging promise this is! Whoever you are, when you obey Jesus' call, He will give you His light. You cannot seek Him in vain! If you will spiritually awake and arise, He has bound himself to "give you light."
Jesus shall give you grace and glory. He will give you the light of His grace here and the light of His glory in eternity.
God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, shall shine in you heart. He will give you the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
On the day you come to fear the Lord [revere, respect, honor, obey], you shall receive your healing and the light and the glory of the Lord rising up in you. For on that day Jesus shall reveal himself in you, and He is the true light.
God is light, and he will give himself to every awakened sinner who waits for him. When he comes, Jesus will dwell in your heart by faith and you shall be a temple of the living god. Then you will be rooted and grounded in love.
Along with all the saints, you will understand that which passes all worldly knowledge. You will then comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of the love of Jesus, which is greater than knowledge.
This is our calling. We are called to be a habitation of God through his Holy Spirit. Through his Holy Spirit dwelling in us, we are to be saints here, and partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
Great are these promises, which are actually given to us who believe. By faith we receive the Holy Spirit, which is of God, to replace that spirit of the world that is in us. The sum of all the promises is that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God.
This Holy Spirit - Christ in us - is that great gift which, at various times and in various manners, God has promised to man. He has now fully given that gift since the time Jesus was glorified. These promises, made in ancient times, have now been fulfilled.
"I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes." --Ezekiel 36:27
"I will pour my Spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring." --Isaiah 44:3
You can be a living witness of those things - the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit - if you believe that "all things are possible to him who believes." --Mark 9:23
I ask you in the name of Jesus,
-
Do you believe that God is still able to save? --Hebrews 7:25
-
Do you believe that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever? --Hebrews 13:8
-
Do you believe that He now has power on earth to forgive sins? --Luke 5:24
-
Or do you believe that times have changed and His arm is shortened? --Isaiah 50:2; 59:1
If you believe that He is the same today as yesterday, be of good cheer. Your sins are forgiven. (Matthew 9:2) God, for Jesus' sake, has forgiven you. Receive this, not as my word, but as the true word of God.
You are saved and justified freely through faith. Also, you shall be completely purified through faith in Jesus. You shall be assured and sealed by God that you have been given eternal life, and this life is in His Son Jesus.
Let me write freely to you. Accept this word of exhortation from me, one of the least. Your conscience bears you witness in the Holy Spirit that these statements are true if you know the Lord. Eternal life is to know God and Jesus Christ whom he sent. This experiential knowledge and this alone, is true Christianity.
